  Prologue

  LUKE

“Oh god. Oh my god. Oh my godddd!”

“Shush!” I slam forward so the top of Kora’s head smacks her headboard, and on each thrust, I pray my orgasm comes soon.

Let us be done. Let us finish what we came here to do. But each time she shouts out to her godly friend, it takes just a little longer for me to reach my peak.

  “Oh my g–”

“Dammit.” I bite off my curse, balance on one arm, and free my right hand to slam over her mouth. “Shut up, or you’re gonna get us caught.”

She bites my palm, and laughs like she thinks it’s cute. So I make my movements faster. Harder. My hamstrings burn, and my shoulders bulge from the adrenaline of what’s gonna happen if that dorm door opens.

I’m on campus at the business college an hour or so north of where I actually live. But seeing as I live in a tiny town where everyone knows everyone’s momma, this is what I have to do to get laid without the risk of buckshot in my ass. College girls, college dorms, sorority sisters pretending this is just a phase and not actually their true desire to be filthy.

Kora is a busty blonde finishing her final year in business school to become an accounting auditor. Her parents sent her away to become a bore, so while she’s gone, she’s gonna get her whore days behind her… despite the fact she has a man who’s finishing up his football scholarship – on a full ride he doesn’t need.

Word on the street is he’s big, he’s wealthy, and he’s somewhat possessive.

Kora studies the doorway for a moment. She worries about who might barge in just as much as I do, but her eyes inevitably come back to mine. She’s turned on by the fact she’s being naughty, and hell if I’m not here to fulfill that fantasy for her.

I pull out, shake my head at her childish pout, then I grab her hip and flip her so she’s on her knees, ass up, panting for more. I slam back in and say nothing about the scream that tears up her throat and echoes through the dorm room.

There’s a party in the hall, loud music, and hundreds of drunk students readying for their final semester before freedom. Sex screams aren’t going to rouse any suspicion. And hell, no one can know it’s her just by the sound of her whimpering.

It could be her roommate. The roommate who is probably single and doesn’t have an angry boyfriend searching every room and corner for her.

“Luke,” Kora cries out and grinds back against my cock. Her breathing turns faster, heavier as she bounces against my thighs and begs for more. “Jesus. Go harder.”

I fold forward, grab onto her long hair, and yank it back until her spine arches and her cries change tone. There’s no romance in what we’re doing today. No feelings. No tomorrows. There’s just savagery and pleasure. And the excitement of hurrying before her man realizes she isn’t in the hall.

The lights in this room are all but out, a pink lava-lamp providing the only illumination but for the strip of light under the door. Music thuds in the hall, so deep, so loud that it makes my heart beat to a new tune. It makes me a little breathless
, but at the same time, it helps me ride my way to completion on an air of zen.

I yank Kora’s hair, pull her face back until she reaches angles that aren’t compatible for anyone who didn’t do gymnastics her whole childhood, and when her tongue lashes out and touches mine, when she screws her eyes shut and her pussy clenches so tight that I’m almost brought to a standstill, I let go on a grunt and fill my condom in hot, jutting spurts that wring me out and make me weak.

My euphoria lasts a mere second before the door slams open and bounces off the wall with a deafening crack.

Light spills into the room, revealing one massive motherfucker with shoulders broader than anyone I know, and behind him, dozens of faces snooping to catch a glimpse of the campus’ newest drama.

“Oh damn.” I swipe a line of sweat from my brow. “That’s your man, huh?”

  “Yup.”

And just like that, Kora jumps ship, bounds away from me on a squeak, wraps her arm across her chest to cover her breasts, and when the footballer enters the room with his wide-stride swagger, she presses her back to the wall and prepares to watch me get splattered.

“Bro…” I hurriedly pull my jeans up and raise a hand in a kind of surrender. “Let’s talk about this like men. No one has to get hurt today.”

“No?” He stops three feet inside the room, then two more wide-fucking-receivers step through the door with bulging arms and mean sneers on their faces. “I think someone’s gonna get hurt today, man. That’s what happens when you touch something that belongs to me.”

“Luke!” Kora takes on the usual screaming-girl persona that emerges whenever there’s an unsanctioned fight within ten feet. “Run, Luke! Quick.”

“Nah,” the boyfriend growls. “Don’t run, Luke.” He lifts both fists, and opens his legs just a little wider, so he stands square on. “Let’s dance.”

Sighing, I look to Kora. Her perfect tits. Her quivering jaw. Looking back to her man, I brush a hand over my face and nod. “Yeah. Alright. Let’s go.”

  Luke

  Yes, Ma’am

“What the hell is wrong with you?” My mom is a fucking spitfire. Five feet, two inches tall, the personality of a roided-up tiger shark, and zero fear. She smacks my arm with bony knuckles until it actually hurts. “College campus!” she snaps. “With a college girl!”

“Well…” I grit my teeth and look between her and my dad. “I mean, if I’m on a college campus, it kinda follows that I’m spending time with college girls.”

“You don’t even go to college!” she hisses. “You chose not to go, Luke! You chose to stay home and work for the gym, and did we push you?” She smacks me again. “No! Everyone learned their lesson when we tried to force your cousin to get an education she didn’t want. So now everyone’s being cool, we’re letting you dumbfucks make your own choices—”

“Dumbfucks?” My brows wing up. “Mom!”

“Dumbfucks! And if those choices don’t include a college degree, then fine, we trust you to make good decisions.”

Out of habit, I think, to share the load of blame, Mom’s eyes snap to my identical twin brother on my left. Whenever one of us is in trouble, the other is always near. It’s just the way it is.

“We let you boys make these decisions, and we’re cool with it. But then you’re on a college campus, screwing around with girls you have no intention of ever seeing again, and now—”

Rob lifts a hand, like we’re in first grade and he has a question, and the gesture jars Mom out of what she’s trying to say.

“And now, you–You…” She scowls. “What?”

“I wasn’t at the college, Mom. Like always, I’m catching shrapnel off Luke’s bad behavior, but I—”

“Shut up,” she snaps. “You are half me, half your father. There’s something wrong with you, so stop trying to pretend you’re an angel.”

I turn to my brother, my best friend, and grit my teeth. “Yeah, Rob. There’s somethin’ wrong with you.”

He flashes a wide grin and makes me think homicidal thoughts.

“And you!” Mom smacks my arm again. “You are twenty-one years old. You are not a damn child! You can’t do stupid shit anymore and expect the cops to laugh it off. The choices you make will follow you around. It’s called a rap sheet! Jon?” Mom half spins to her left. “Jon!”

“Here, Sunshine,” he says from her right.

She spins the other way. “Tell him! These bad choices will follow him around for life.”

Dad drops his gaze a little, nods solemnly, and rests a hand on her shoulder. “It’s called a rap sheet.”

“And he won’t get a nice job!” Mom screeches.

Dad nods. “No one will hire you.”

“And now you risk going to jail!”

“Well,” Dad smothers a snicker and wipes his free hand over his lips. “I doubt you’re going to jail today, but—”

“No but!” Mom shoves his hand off her shoulder and snarls when he tries to place it back.

Just like that, we’re reminded of the million silly arguments Jon and Casey Hart have had over the last twenty-one years.

She’s his Sunshine, and he’s her Leo, her brave lion.

Except when she’s got her temper going, in which case, he’s cowardly as fuck.

Every single time Mom tried to discipline my brother and I, she would try to force Dad to be the heavy. Almost every single time, Dad would end up in timeout with us, because he can’t punish us any more than Mom can stay mad at him.

  We’re a team, we’re Harts, and hell, we’re unbreakable… except when Mom’s on a tear.

“You will go to prison today, Luke Hart! And you know what?” She pokes my shoulder. “In jail, there’s only one toilet to share between ten men.”

“Oh no.” My voice sounds genuine, even if on the inside, I’m laughing.

“Oh yes!” she counters. “And there’s no door to the bathroom. There is no bathroom at all! There’s just a cell, and a toilet, and all your new buddies will see you poop!”

  “That doesn’t sound fun.”

“And slop for dinner!” she continues. “Oatmeal, and bread, and water. That’s all you get!”

  “Not sure that’s tru—”

“You will go into prison with a normal-person tan, but you’ll come out gray. Like, gray skin, from bad food and no sun. And possibly, you’ll have a boyfriend too, so how do you think you would like that?”

“But…” I add a little extra quiver to my voice just to fuck with her. “I like girls, Ma.”

“I know you do! And that’s exactly why we’re here today. You were with a taken woman, on the campus of a college you do not attend, and when you got caught by her man, you fought him!”

“And two of his biggest teammates.” I grin for a moment, expecting an ‘Attaboy’ for being so badass, but then Casey ‘Tink’ Hart turns a new shade of pissed off. So I shut it down. “I’m sorry, Mommy.”

“You were in a fight that you never had to be in!”

“Luke?” Jessica Bishop is my lawyer. My legal eagle. My sex-on-legs, platinum blonde, ass for days, smile-that-makes-men-weak, mom to twins, legal team who wears skirts to work and has a sharp tongue that cuts down even the baddest men.

She’s also happily married to a certified thug. So I tend to keep my thoughts about her ass to myself.

“We’re going in now. Tink,” she looks to my mom. “Do up your top button.”

Mom looks down at her blouse, frowns, and pops another button. “Like this?”

“No,” Jess snickers. “Do it up. The judge will toss you on your ass if you go in there with cleavage.”

“He needs me to go in there with cleavage,” Mom whisper-hisses and shoots me the stinkeye. “My son is going to prison today, so if showing off my cleavage will help, then that’s what—”

“Sunshine?” Dad grabs his wife’s arm, spins her around, and goes to work buttoning her up. “Put them away.”

“If he gets a crotchety old man judge, then he
s gonna need me to show more boob!”

“Mom!” Rob works his way into the fray. “Just do it up.”

“So…” Grinning, I stand beside Jess and bump her arm with my elbow. “How’s it going?”

“Shut up. When we go in there, your job is to sit down, shut up, and let me speak.”

“Ever since you came on as my legal rep, I’ve been thinkin’—”

“Don’t do that,” she cuts in. “It’ll hurt.”

“Ha.” I roll my eyes and take a step toward the heavy wooden doors when a dude in a guard’s uniform opens them up. “You’re a twin, and I’m a twin.”

  “Don’t do it, Hart.”

  “I’m sexy, and you’re sexy.”

“I will kill you,” she grits out.

“And Kane Bishop is a pussy, so there’s no need to be afraid of him—”

A heavy hand slams down on my shoulder with so much force that my lungs empty and my knees buckle.

Swinging around, I’m met with a pair of eyes that flicker between bright and pissed.

“Shut the fuck up, kid.” Theo Griffin is a scary dude. A big dude. A dangerous dude. He also happens to be Jess’ brother-in-law, and he has zero tolerance for my brand of shenanigans. “One chance. Then you’re gonna be picking bullet shells outta your back.”
